SCUBA - An AirFlow Design Experience

In in in!Final checksWe had a lovely burger and chips for lunch, got some rays and took it easy for and hour and a half. Then it was up and at 'em again for a second dive. We got kitted up and decided once again to stride off the 'plank'. The plan was to make for the barge, follow the line to the pleasure cruiser and then navigate back to the walk-out ramp to the left of the 'plank'.

Now you'd think I'd have the sense to go and fetch my gloves from the car, but yes, you guessed it, I forgot again! Well this time the water, although actually just as cold, didn't feel anywhere near as cold - it was probably that helping of chips that did the trick. My hands were much warmer, although it was touch and go.

Scooby Doo... where are you?We surface-swam to the barge buoy and submerged. Rather than the industrial coal-carrying thing I had been expecting, the barge turned out to be the sort of Norfolk Broads holiday barge with a galley (inc. stainless steel sink unit), wheelhouse and bunks. Visibility at 18m was very poor down there and again, pictures were almost a waste of time. Here's one of me shining my torch at Peter! Honest!

OKWe found the line and made our way to the small pleasure boat. This again was enveloped in darkness/algae/silt and it was an excellent opportunity to try out some wreck diving techniques. silly...We explored the boat at length and found a few perch happily ensconced in the various lockers, so we left them to it and navigated back to the shore, missing the ramp by just 2 metres (which ain't bad for me!).

Time was pressing by then so we decided against a third dive. All in all we'd had a great day out. My wife, Dannie, had been able to sit comfortably at the surface just a few yards from the water's edge and play with the dogs/read her book whilst we were under. The food and hospitality were very good, and the water was as good or as bad as you want to describe it, but it didn't spoil our fun at all. In the immortal words of the Terminator...

...I'll be back!
